The draw and times for the 2016 Republic Bank/KHSAA State Tennis Tournament have been posted. Please familiarize yourself with the Tennis page on our website (http://khsaa.org/sports/spring/tennis/) for links to those and more information such as event schedule, locations, driving instructions, etc.

Please remember, there are no “hard copies” of the brackets available on site. Please remember to either print your own set from the tennis page or bookmark the link on your smart phone. The brackets will be updated periodically throughout the tournament.

Coach Check-in
On Thursday morning, coaches will need to report to the check-in tent at their site (big white tent) and find either Associate Commissioner Butch Cope (at Shillito) or Assistant Commissioner Michael Barren (at the University of Kentucky) to obtain coaching credentials. Only those coaches who have completed the Online Rules Clinic will be on the list at check-in. You will sign-in and receive your wristband, which will designate you as an authorized coach to the USTA official. It will also provide you free admission on both Friday and Saturday. Remember, you MUST WEAR THE ARMBAND AT ALL TIMES.

Bus Parking
Don’t forget, school buses going to UK will need to park at Commonwealth Stadium and buses at Shillito need to park in the large parking lot next to the baseball complex. The park police will not allow people to park on the main roads. There is plenty of parking available in several lots. Please review the Google earth map links on the Tennis page at KHSAA.org for assistance.

Inclement Weather Plan
With the long range forecast of possible showers on Friday, now is a good time to remind you of how we plan to communicate any changes to locations and/or time schedules for the Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis Tournaments. We expect the participants to report to their site as scheduled, and if we have to move indoors we will give instructions at that location for those participants. Secondly, we will use the KHSAA website to post updates under the “STATE TENNIS TOURNAMENT WEATHER” heading on the homepage, so please check there first in case of inclement weather. Updates will also be announced via the @KHSAA and @khsaaevents Twitter accounts.

Finally, here is a link to the Driving Directions and GPS address for our three indoor centers that might be used in case of inclement weather: http://khsaa.org/tennis/rain.pdf

Host Hotel Accommodations
The Clarion Hotel Lexington (1950 Newton Pike Lexington, Kentucky 40511) is holding rooms at a set rate for KHSAA Tennis teams. You can contact the Clarion Hotel by phone at (859) 233-0512.

The Tennis page at KHSAA.org will be updated with more “State notes” as the week progresses.
