Annual Meeting Of Delegates Set For Thursday, Sept. 19

The KHSAA Annual Meeting of Delegates will take place Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Lexington Center. Each KHSAA member school is represented by one delegate at the Annual Meeting that can vote on all proposals. A detailed listing of all proposals for change to KHSAA rules will be made available on the KHSAA website in the coming days.

Volleyball, Soccer Draw Show Scheduled For Oct. 14

The pairings for the 2013 KHSAA Volleyball and 2013 KHSAA Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer State Tournaments will be decided Monday, October 14 when the annual Draw Show is conducted at the KHSAA Offices. The Draw Show will be broadcast live online with a link to view the event available at KHSAA.org. Brackets will be posted to the Riherds/KHSAA Scoreboard at the conclusion of the broadcast.

District soccer tournaments begin the week of October 14, with region soccer tournaments getting underway the following week. The Boys’ Soccer Semi-State (Oct. 28) and Girls’ Soccer Semi-State (Oct. 29) will be held at host sites, followed by the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Nov. 2 at various Fayette County schools. The state tournament will move to Paul Laurence Dunbar High School for the remainder of the championship, with the Boys’ and Girls’ Semifinals on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, respectively, and the finals on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Volleyball district tournaments start the week of Oct. 21, followed by the regional tournaments the next week. The KHSAA State Volleyball Tournament moves to a three-day format for the first time in 2013 (Nov. 8-10), with the opening round taking place on Friday, Nov. 8 at Valley High School in Louisville. Quarterfinal and semifinal action will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, followed by the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 10.
