2013 KHSAA Soccer Championships Begin Monday and Tuesday

The 2013 KHSAA Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Championships begin tonight and tomorrow with the Semi-State Round on campus sites. Teams advancing from the Semi-State Round will travel to Lexington on Saturday, Nov. 2nd for the quarterfinals, with the boys’ games taking place at Henry Clay and the girls’ matches slated for Lafayette.

The semifinals and finals will be played at Paul Laurence Dunbar, with the boys competing on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and the girls playing on Thursday, Nov. 7. Both championship bouts will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, with the boys’ game at 5 p.m. and the girls’ title match at 7 p.m. Live webcasts of the Semifinals and Championship games will be available at KHSAA.tv.

Volleyball; Cross Country Regionals This Week

Regional Tournaments for volleyball began Saturday afternoon with first round play in the 13th Region, and continue through Saturday night with the championship matches of the 2nd and 9th Regions. The 2013 KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament will be held Nov. 8-10 at Valley High School in Louisville. This year’s event will move to a three-day format, with the championship match played on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. First round matches will be played on Friday, Nov. 8, followed by Quarterfinal and Semifinal action on Saturday, Nov. 9.

All 21 regional cross country meets will be held this Saturday with runners across the state looking to earn a spot in the KHSAA Cross Country State Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday, Nov. 9. Results from the regional meets will be posted to KHSAA.org as they become available.

The 2013 KHSAA State Meet will begin with the 1A Boys and 1A Girls at 9:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., respectively. The 2A Boys race will start at 11:30 a.m., followed by the 2A Girls at 12:15 p.m. The day’s events will conclude with the 3A Boys at 1:30 p.m., and the 3A Girls at 2:15 p.m.
