The officials and KHSAA staff will be on the course tomorrow and Friday preparing for Saturdays Championship. A final reminder today –

Walk throughs are not allowed until Friday at 3:30pm.  Remember buses are allowed in the Alltech Arena paved lot only. Teamip apparel vendor will be set up and ready to sell on Friday as well.

On Saturday there is an event at the Alltech Arena which requires a horse crossing across the road that leads to Walt Robinson.  Therefore, we will be entering the parking area through the Alltech Arena lot.

We have an experienced group to guide all cars and buses through the lot, but as you know the turnover between classes can cause the entering cars to become backed up. We ask schools to allow extra time to park AND to follow the direction of the parking attendants so that the parking line can flow smoothly.

We do have handicap parking available and a lot for buses only closest to the entry.  We also provide a golf cart limo and a trolley to escort those who are need to the admission gate and to the course.  Please take the time to share this information with parents and fans tonight.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS ON CHIP TIMING:  We will be using chip timing for all races. This year athletes will be using shoe chips. Shoestrings will run through the chip and athletes will tie their shoes to hold the chip on. The number on the shoe chip will correspond to the athlete’s bib number. When declaring athletes at check-in, turn in the shoe ships that will not be used during the race. That will include no-shows as well as your alternates who will not be running. After finishing the race, athletes will remove the chip at the back of the corral and turn it into the marshals as they leave the finish area. If you have a runner that does not finish the race, please return the shoe chip to the marshals at the rear of the corral. Remind athletes not to bend the chip when they are tying it on.

Since we are using chips,  please encourage your runners to continue jogging through the corral to the back.  Remind them that they do not have to stay in line after the finish.  Athletes can simply move left or right and around other runners.  This is essential and allows our medical staff to assist any athlete who is in medical distress in the finish area more easily.

Thanks to all of you for your hard work this fall and good luck tomorrow.  Let’s hope for sunshine – good luck to all!
