Previously, football schools were sent information to withhold scheduling until after the Board of Control completed its required review of the current football alignment. Following their meeting on Monday, July 23, the following changes and alignment adjustments were approved:

  1. McCracken County High School was placed in District 1 of Class 6A. This consolidation removes Lone Oak from Class 4A, District 1; removes Heath from Class 3A, District 1 and removes Reidland from Class 2A, District 1.
  2. Muhlenberg County High School will move from District 1 to District 2 of Class 6A, along with Central Hardin and Meade County (following the Nelson County move earlier)
  3. For 2013 and 2014, the 5th place team from District 6 will continue to assume to lowest playoff seed spot from District 2 in Class 6A for playoff pairings
  4. No other changes were approved.
School representatives are reminded that the 2013-2014 school year is the “rollover” year for the corresponding date chart, and dates go back forward. For example, schools that played on August 24 of 2012 would play on August 30 of 2013 if the game stays on teh schedule and is played on corresponding dates. The corresponding date chart is at www.khsaa.org/handbook/correspondingdates/footballcorrespondingdates.pdf

Schools are now free to finalize 2013 and 2014 schedules.
