BOWLING GREEN DEFENDS GOLF TITLE
RICHMOND -- Bowling Green High School successfully defended its state golf championship, finishing 16 strokes ahead of George Rogers Clark, St. Xavier and Muhlenberg North at the 64th KHSAA State Golf Championship played at Gibson Bay Golf Course.
The Purples entered the day four shots up on Muhlenberg North after carding a 303 in Thursday's opening round. Matt McGill help lead the team to a 300 in Friday's final round, turning in a one-under 71 to finish the tournament tied for third at 145.
Powell County's Brad Morris was one-over (73) on the day to finish one-under for the tournament (143) and take home top individual honors. Russell's Brad Muncy was one shot back at 144.
George Rogers Clark and Muhlenber North were delcared
co-runner-up after a two-hole playoff and St. Xavier finished fourth.
