Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Ty Rogers is one the most accomplished and decorated players in Kentucky High School Basketball history. Ty currently ranks 9th on the state's all-time scoring list with 3,300 points. He also ranks 4th for most made 3-pointers with 407. He was a six-year varsity player and a five year starter for Lyon County, helping lead them to 5 District 5 Championships. He was Honorable Mention All-State as a freshman and sophomore, 2nd Team All-State as a junior and 1st Team All-State as a senior. As a senior he was the state's scoring leader at 32.3 PPG. He was runner-up to Chris Lofton for Kentucky's Player of the Year in 2004. He also co-captained the Kentucky All Stars Team that year. Ty went on to an outstanding collegiate career at Western Kentucky University. In 2008, Ty made one of the most famous game winning shots in NCAA Tournament history as WKU defeated Drake in the opening round. He won an ESPY Award that year for that shot. In addition to his basketball career, Ty was also Class Valedictorian 2004 at Lyon County.
