Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:

Tyrran's accomplishments and contributions during his coaching career were tremendous, including becoming the first African-American head coach to win a state football championship in Kentucky. He got his start at Doss, where he was an assistant for four seasons before being named head coach in 2002, compiling a 22-30 record over five seasons. As a coach at Central, he compiled a 101-43 record and won 5 State Championships in just 6 years (2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012). Although he wasn't able to bring back the Championships in 2014 and 2016, Central was able to finish as State Runner-Up each year. One of the many distinguished players that he coached includes Anthony Wales: - 2nd All-time points scored in a career (738); - 3rd All-time Touchdowns in a career (119) - 3rd All-time Rushing Yards (8, 213); - 6th Most Rushing Touchdowns in a season (40) - 10th Points Scored in a Season
