Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Mac Whitaker is the all-time wins leader for baseball coaches in the state of Kentucky. He took over the Harrison Co. Baseball Team in 1978 and has never had a losing season in the 43 years he has been at the helm. In 1981, his Harrison Co. Thorobreds' began a streak of 20-win seasons that lasted for 37 years. Coach Whitaker has led Harrison Co. to four state tournament titles (1993, 1997, 1998, 2010) and two state runners-up (1984, 1987). He has coached seven players who signed a professional baseball contract, two KY Mr. Baseballs and Gatorade Players of the Year and 76 players who have gone on to play college baseball. 37 District Championships // 21 Regional Championships // 9 Sectional Championships // 6 Sectional Runners-up
