Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
As a senior, Kandi Parker led the West Carter Lady Comets to the 2000 KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16 title and was named MVP of the tournament. She ended her career with 2,599 points, the most in West Carter girls' basketball history. She also holds the school record for rebounds and career free throw percentage. Parker went on to play at Morehead State where she started all four years, setting OVC and NCAA records in free throw percentage. She ranks second in program history in career three pointers and is in the program's top-11 in free throws made, steals, scoring, games played and assists.
