Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
The first female official in the state of Kentucky and the second in the United States. She and her husband, Joe, were the first married couple to referee in Kentucky and possibly the United States. Refereed from 1960-1962. Her exploits as a pioneering female official were documented in Sports Illustrated, the New York Times, the Detroit Press, the Denver Press and the Chicago News, among many others.
