Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:

One of the best multi-sport student-athletes in Kentucky High School history. Kentucky High School All-Stars: 1st Player in KY history to be named and play in the KY vs Indiana all-star basketball games and KY vs Tennessee all-star football game. Selected defensive MVP of the all-star football game. Football: 4-year starter on both offense and defense for Paintsville HS. Close to 40 TDs, 300 solo tackles, over 2000 yards rushing, member of 1985 regional championship team and 1985 State Finalist team for KHSAA HOF coach Walter Brugh. Team captain. Basketball: 4-year starter for Coach Bill Mike Runyon of Paintsville High School. Member of 3 consecutive regional championship teams and final four team his senior year. Team captain. Scored over 2000 points, close to 1000 rebounds, 3-time all-district, 3-time all-region and member of KY all-state tournament team his senior year. 3.5 GPA student. A 3 year starter at UK under Jerry Claiborne. His senior yr was selected as defensive captain, All-SEC, pre-season All-America and rated most under-rated player in America. 2nd most tackles in UK history as a noseguard.
