The Kentucky Department of Agriculture in partnership with the Kentucky High School Athletic Association will award (4) $1,000 scholarships to two male and two female athletes who are chosen as the Kentucky Ag Athletes of the Year and (2) $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female overall winners as the Outstanding Kentucky Ag Athletes of the Year.
CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:
APPLICANTS SELECTED AS FINALISTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING AS A CONDITION TO RECEIVING THE AWARD:

- Candidates must be Kentucky farmers or involved in agriculture and participate in one or more KHSAA sports or sport activities during the 2024-2025 school year.
- The six recipients will be named “2025 Kentucky Ag Athletes of the Year” and “2025 Outstanding Kentucky Ag Athletes of the Year” and awards will be presented at the 2025 UK HealthCare Boys’ Sweet Sixteen in March at Rupp Arena.
- This is a one time award and a nonrenewable scholarship payable to an institution of higher learning and not endowed for expansion.
CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:
- High school graduating senior
- Must be a Kentucky farmer or involved in agriculture
- Participate in one or more KHSAA sports or sport activities during the 2024-2025 school year
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale, if weighted, GPA must be converted to 4.0 scale by counselor)
- Accepted to a higher education 2 year, 4 year or trade school institution (Though an Agriculture major is not required and preference will be given to Kentucky colleges. However, out of state schools will be considered if seeking specialized degree in the Agriculture field)
- Submission of all fields requested on this application
APPLICANTS SELECTED AS FINALISTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
- Two letters of recommendation (1 touching on your impact in Agriculture and 1 touching on your impact in athletics)
- A head and shoulders picture (i.e. school picture)
SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING AS A CONDITION TO RECEIVING THE AWARD:
- A copy of acceptance letter of the institution you will be attending and/or class schedule for 1st semester.
