Secretary.  This independent contractor position has the following responsibilities- 
 Work for the member schools in the KHSAA Basketball 2nd region,
ensuring good communication with all of the schools both during the season,
and during the off-season; 
 Assign KHSAA licensed officials to all contests hosted by 2nd region
schools, including varsity, junior varsity and freshman level contests; 
 Ensure that all officials that are assigned have met all KHSAA
requirements prior to assigning; 
 Communicate with the schools to ensure that the Federal Court Order and
its mandate for coaches to have a specific opportunity to scratch officials, is
adhered to at all times; 
 Fully utilize the arbitersports.com assignment platform including the proper
timely communication of game assignments to the schools and officials; 
 Adhere to other directives from the 2nd region policy board including the
fee schedule to be paid to officials, scratch limits and policies, rating policies
and an annual evaluation process; 
 Ensure that adequate training is done to allow for the officials to improve
their abilities and require the use of NFHS approved signals, coverage and
rules; 
 Adhere to all other KHSAA reporting and contracted requirements
including deadlines for submission of items and officiating nominations.

BASIC FUNCTION: To coach and oversee the activities of the team.



REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

The terms of employment are designated by the contract.

Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance
Promote sports in the schools and community;

Verify eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage, completion of an annual physical and parent consent. KHSAA requirements must be enforced. Satisfactory academic progress must be required. Athletes must be made aware of academic expectations and requirements;
Provide and maintain clean, orderly and secure facilities;
Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance;
Conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes;
