Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
* A KHSAA football official from 1976 until the early 2000\'s. Harlan called multiple playoff games and officiated the KHSAA Football State AAA Championship Game. * Played at Hazard High School from 1958 until 1962. * Upon Graduation from college, he was the head basketball coach at Pineville High School and Washington County High School. While working as a grad asst. at EKU, Hall of Fame Coach Guy Strong stated the Harlan was one of the best young coaches in the State of Kentucky. His coaching career was cut short by family matters in 1973. * Provided Color commentary, alongside KHSAA Hall of Fame inductee, Jay Lasslo, for WSGS Hazard. Calling many Boys and Girls Sweet Sixteen Basketball Tournaments. * Finally, Junior has served on the WYMT Basketball Classic Board of Directors. * Has been involved in high school sports for over 61 years as a player, coach, official and contributor. He represents what is great about High School Sports and is a very deserving candidate.
