Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Don Adkins has been a teacher, athletic director and basketball coach in Fayette County Public Schools for 35 years, culminating in his team being crowned Boys\' High School State Champions in 2001. He has also served on the board of directors for the K-Club, Bluegrass SportsCommissibr1, KHSAA Middle School Sports Commission, Bluegrass Special Olympics and Centenary United Methodist \"I Am Third Recreation\". Don received many honors and accolades for his contributions to athletics and most notably was awarded the Jim Host Youth, Sports Award for his contributions to the youth of the Bluegrass. In his spare time, Don continues to promote athletics by co-hosting a weekly high school sports radio show on IHeart Radio and is a color analyst for PrepSpin Communications, enjoys being a licensed realtor, playing golf, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
