Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:

The Cook twins were the first cheerleaders to get athletic scholarships to Western Kentucky State Teachers College. They cheered at London High School, where they actually wrote the cheers while attending. Affectionately known nationwide as "The Twins". At the state high school basketball tournament in 1944, The Twins were deluged with attention and Lexington and Louisville newspapers glowed over their performance. On Christmas night 1944, The Twins performed between games of a basketball doubleheader at Madison Square Garden in NYC before 18,000 fans and received six encores - a feat noted by the New York Times.
