Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Gary “Tuck” Woolum quarterbacked the 1978 Pineville football team in his senior season; throwing for 2000+ yards and 26 TDs. The “hard work”, “love for the game” and “110% effort” that was so often seen by his peers and coaches aided him in receiving a scholarship from EKU. It was there, as their QB, that he led the Colonels to the 1982 1AA National Championship and a perfect 13-0 record. Tuck went on to coach at Citadel, Western Carolina and Union College before returning home to Pineville to teach and coach at the high school.
