Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Richards was a standout girls\' basketball player at Central HS from 1995-99, earning All-District and First Team All-Region honors all four years. As a sophomore, she led Central to the Sixth Region Championship and a quarterfinal appearance in the KHSAA Girls\' Sweet 16, where she earned All-Tournament honors. As a senior, she ranked second in the state in scoring at 35.5 ppg, earning Sixth Region Player of the Year, First Team All-State from the Courier-Journal and a spot on the KY All-Star Team. Richards went on to be a four-year letterwinner at Nebraska, before transitioning to coaching and is currently the head women\'s basketball coach at Alabama A&M.
