2018-19 KHSAA DANCE SECTION COMPETITION DATES/SITES

Athletic Administrators from all combined regions are responsible for making decisions such as ticket prices, expenses and division of any revenue as a group.  The “host” region is not solely responsible for this. The Commissioner’s office would make the final selection based on the recommendations and consider all other factors.

Following the October 1 declaration by participating schools, state qualifiers will be based upon the number of teams in each section. In total, 16 teams from those four sections will advance to the state competition in each division offered:

Jazz – Small (7-16 competitors) / Large (17-30 competitors)

Hip Hop – Small (7-16 competitors) / Large (17-30 competitors)

Pom – Small (7-16 competitors) / Large (17-30 competitors)

The 2018 KHSAA State Dance Championships will be held Saturday, December 15 at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington.
