08/24/18- Reminder about Title IX Specific Workshops

As was previously announced at our Regional Meetings, the KHSAA will be conducting a Title IX Workshop on Thursday, September 6, at 8:30 a.m. ET  at Valley High School in Louisville and Tuesday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m. ET at Somerset High School. The focus of this meeting will be the elements of Title IX as it relates to the management of the interscholastic athletic program. The workshop should be extremely beneficial for all member schools, especially as schools prepare for revisits during the coming years. Registration will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. EILA Credit has been applied for in order to help the appropriate administrators who attend and in addition, this meeting will count three (3) hours toward the Bylaw 25 required hours for Athletic Directors.

Covered in the workshop will be a review of Title IX Opportunities and Benefits, the Annual KHSAA reporting requirement, and various items related to continuing to monitor compliance within the local school and school district.

The KHSAA Title IX Audit Compliance team as well as Title IX Compliance Officer Darren Bilberry, IT Director Rob Catron, and Commissioner Julian Tackett will be present to facilitate the meeting.
