Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
1972- Coached the Tates Creek High School Boys\' State Champion Gymnastics Team. As a contributor, Coach Komara was instrumental in the development and was the Program Director for the required Kentucky Coaches Education Program and Certification course that is still used today by the KHSAA. Received the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association State Award of Merit for Kentucky in 1996. Was Fayette County Director of Athletics in 1989, Principal at Crawford Middle, Associate Principal at Bryan Station HS. Coached Boys\' and Girls\' Gymnastics and Football at Southern Middle, coached Football as an assistant at Tates Creek HS. Many of his middle school gymnasts competed for Tates Creek HS where they won multiple state championships and individual titles Received the Blanton Collier Award for the Kentucky Chapter during the 1961-1962 UK Football season. He was also the Coordinator for Health & Physical Education in Fayette County Schools/D.A.
