Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
Katie played all 4 years of high school at Ballard High School. Katie was a left-handed Pitcher for the softball program under Alan Jones. Where she holds the single-season and career records. She was awarded first-team all-state her senior year. Her BIO for Morehead State- Product of Ballard High School where she set the school single-season record for wins with a 33-7 mark in 2009 ... In 2009, tossed 21 shutouts and was named First-Team All-State ... In 2008, named All-District with a 10-3 record and 110 strikeouts. After high school Katie continued to play softball. She attended Voluntary State Community College for two years, where she set school records, and in her sophomore year, she helped the team win their first-ever regional. She holds the record and was selected both years not just for pitching but hitting as well. She was selected as MVP of the region both seasons.. She was also selected on the 2nd all american as a utility player. After her sophomore year she went on to attend Morehead State University on a full athletic scholarship. She set a single-season record.
