Nominee's Accomplishments at the High School Level in Kentucky:
The longtime girls' basketball head coach at Hazard HS, Fannin accumulated over 500 wins during his career and guided the Lady Bulldogs to the KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16 state championship in 1997. Hazard captured three-straight 14th Region Championships from 1995-97. Fannin's coaching accolades included a 14th Region and 54th District Coach of the Year award. He received the 14th Region's Most Outstanding Coaching Career award and was inducted into the KABC Court of Honor in 2009. Fannin's impact extended past girls' basketball, as he coached boys' basketball and fast pitch softball at Hazard as well, winning a 14th Region title in both sports. During his playing career, Fannin broke numberous records at Carr Creek HS during the 1960's before continuing his education at Cumberland College, where he set the record for Free Throw percentage.
