The KHSAA School Subdomain has been updated for the 2023-2024 school year to include all new and upcoming sanctioned sports and sport-activities.  You will notice this updated “School Control Panel/Sports Offerings” panel once logged into https://schools.khsaa.org/ (direct link: https://schools.khsaa.org/schools_update/)

It is very important at this time to ensure that both your coaches and athletes are properly distributed to these additional teams.

When roster maintenance was executed over the July 4th holiday weekend, the following sport and sport activities were divided by gender (they were coed prior to this school year):

  • Archery
  • Bass Fishing
  • Rifle
  • Wrestling

In addition, during this same time, the following sport/sport activities were added to the grid:

  • Bowling – Adapted
  • Diving – Boys
  • Diving – Girls
  • Flag Football – Girls
  • Indoor Track – Boys
  • Indoor Track – Girls
  • Team Tennis – Boys
  • Team Tennis – Girls
  • Track – Adapted
  • Trap Shooting – Boys
  • Trap Shooting – Girls

For Archery, Bass Fishing, Rifle, and Wrestling the following changes were made:

  • Changed the singular, Coed team name designation (i.e. Archery, Bass Fishing, etc) to Boys/Coed per past legislative action (Archery – Boys, Bass Fishing – Boys) and added the Female Gender option.
  • All athletes and coaches were left unchanged – that is, these individuals were left on the boys’ rosters once the conversion was done.

KHSAA Member Schools need to:

  • Enable the female gender on the sport offering grid if you have females competing against female teams (i.e., you will need to check that you offer Girls’ Archery unless you only have individual females participating on the coed teams)

The following protocol to correctly enter student-athletes on team rosters. There can be several instances where one student-athlete can be on multiple rosters.

Here are a few specific examples of action that will need to be taken in specific sports or sport-activities:

  • Student A is a girl diver who only competes in the diving event.
    • She should be placed on the Diving Girls Roster only. Student B is a girl diver who also competes in a few swimming events.
    • Student B should listed on both the Diving Girls roster and the Swimming Girls Roster.
  • Student X is a partner athlete for the unified bowling team and also a member of the Varsity boys bowling team.
    • Student X should be listed on both the Bowling – Unified roster and the Bowling – Boys Roster.
  • Student Y is a female wrestler.
    • Student Y chooses to enter the postseason in the boys’ division.
    • Student Y should be on both the Wrestling – Boys and the Wrestling – Girls roster.
