The KHSAA wanted to update member schools about Bowling postseason dates and sites.

REGIONAL BOWLING

  • Regional bowling will take place from January 22 – February 3.
  • All 8 regional bowling sites have been finalized and are listed below for reference.
    • Region 1 – Warren Central/Southern Lanes
    • Region 2 – Taylor County/Phillips Lanes
    • Region 3 – North Bullitt/King Pin Lanes
    • Region 4 – Brown/Ten Pin Strike & Spare
    • Region 5 – Bishop Brossart/Super Bowl Bellewood
    • Region 6 – Lloyd Memorial/Super Bowl Bellewood
    • Region 7 – Great Crossing/Galaxy Lanes
    • Region 8 – West Jessamine/Danville Bowlarama

ENTRY FOR REGIONALS

  • For the boy’s and girls’ team competitions, schools may designate a maximum of ten (10) bowlers on the postseason roster.
  • Each school can also enter a maximum of 4 boys and 4 girls for the singles competition.
  • Each school can also enter up to 8 Unified Pairs, and 4 Adapted bowlers.
    • The KHSAA also wanted to clarify that any unified/adapted students who are eligible under KHSAA Bylaws that are applicable to sport-activities are also eligible to enter the KHSAA postseason for the team and/or singles events. 
    • Note that the following bylaws do not apply to the sport-activities, including 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 19, 20 and 22)
  • Athletic Directors and Coaches will be sent a separate notification when entry forms are open and accepting entries as well as the relevant provisions available for substitution in the event of COVID or other situations. 

CURRENT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS DETAILS

  • The KHSAA State Bowling Tournament is to take place February 7-9  at Executive Strike & Spare in Louisville.
  • It is tentatively scheduled for the girls’ team and singles events to take place on February 7, with the boys’ team and singles tournaments to take place on February 8.
  • The unified/adapted championships will be conducted on February 9.
  • Once final plans are determined, a detailed time schedule will be available on the bowling website.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth.
