01/11/24 – Swimming & Diving Regional Instructions and Additional Postseason Information
PrintThe KHSAA wanted to update member schools about the details available for the postseason in the sport of Swimming & Diving.
REGION SWIM & DIVE
- All information pertaining to the regional events, including regional instructions for participating teams, can be found here: REGIONAL MEET INSTRUCTIONS
- Regional swimming sites and information have been collected from host schools and manager information can be found here: SWIMMING MANAGERS

- Regional diving will all take place at the University of Louisville:
- Regions 1, 3, 6, 8, 9 will dive on February 5 (Boys Warm-up 8:30 AM, Dive 9:30 -12. Girls Warm-up 4:30, Dive 5:30 – 9)
- Regions 2, 4, 5, 7 will dive on February 6 (Boys Warm-up 8 AM, Dive 9 -12. Girls Warm-up 4:30, Dive 5:30 – 9)
DIVING ENTRIES FOR REGION
- *EDITED 1/22/24: To be eligible to participate in the KHSAA Regional and State Diving meets, a contestant must have competed in at least three(3) diving meets on a team representing a member school.

- Proof of participation is the hard copy of the meet results signed by a KHSAA-certified referee.
- By entering into the member school’s Regional Championship, the coach and athletic director of the member school certify that all divers and diving alternates have participated in the required meets (3) prior to the start of the postseason (region meet).
- NFHS Dive sheets are no longer required. Divemeets.com will be utilized for both regional and state events.
- If you are a diver, coach, or judge and you have not registered with DiveMeets.com, please register now.
- You cannot participate in a DiveMeets meet as a diver, coach, or judge or enter a meet online until you open a DiveMeets account.
STATE SWIMMING OPENING ROUNDS
- For 2024, the State Opening Round sites were selected and approved. They are as follows:
- Site #1 – Regions 1-3 qualifiers: Russell County High School (*Central Time)
- Site #2 – Regions 4-6 qualifiers: University of Louisville
- Site #3 – Regions 7-9 qualifiers: Scott High School
- Each of these events would be contested as two-heat, timed finals (based on regional qualification) in all swimming events at all opening round sites on February 17th.

STATE FINALS SWIM & DIVE
- For Swimming:
- From State First-Round Site #1 (Regions 1-3), the top 3 competitors per event automatically qualify.
- From State First-Round Site #2 (Regions 4-6), the top 3 competitors per event automatically qualify.
- From State First-Round Site #3 (Regions 7-9), the top 3 competitors per event automatically qualify.
- After the 9 automatic qualifiers from each first round, the next best 15 times statewide per event will be at-large qualifiers.
- For Diving:
- The top two (2) divers in each event from each Region Meet and then the next highest 22 scores achieved throughout the state in all finals at Regional Meets, will qualify for the KHSAA State Diving Meet.
- The KHSAA State Swimming & Diving Finals presented by UK HealthCare will take place on February 22-24 at the University of Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center.
- State Diving will take place on February 22 (boys first) and points accumulated in the Diving Meets will accrue and carry forward to the swimming state meet team totals.
- State Swimming will take place on February 23-24, with the boys’ prelims/finals on Friday and the girls’ prelims/finals on Saturday.

About the Kentucky High School Athletic Association
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth. The Association is a voluntary nonprofit 501(c)3 organization made up of 290 member schools, both public and non-public. The KHSAA awards 229 state championships to 59 teams and 178 individuals in 13 sports and six sport-activities, funds catastrophic insurance coverage for its more than 109,000 rostered member school student-athletes, provides coaching education and sports safety programs for more than 12,000 coaches and licenses and facilitates the distribution of training material for over 4,000 contest officials.
