12/10/19 – State Dance Instructions and Schedule Posted
PrintCongratulations to all participants and coaches who have qualified for the 2019 KHSAA State Dance Championships at Valley High School in Louisville on December 21st. The instructions for participating teams and fans have been posted to the website and should be reviewed prior to the state competition. The order of appearance and detailed station-by-station order of appearance, have also been posted online.
To view these items, go to https://khsaa.org/sports/sports-activities/dance/ and choose the “State Competition Information and Instructions” tab. As a reminder, there will be a team web conference for Coaches and Athletic Directors on December 17th at 2 p.m. (Eastern). The instructions for joining the web conference will be distributed in an email prior to that date.
Upon arrival at the state competition, all coaches and participants must enter the team entrance on the North Side of the school and check-in to receive their team packets, which will include all necessary materials.
Teams will then check-in a second time at the warm-up area to begin the warm-up process. Teams will check-in at the allotted time and will be assigned to either Side A or Side B (in the small gym) for an 8-minute warm-up period. This will be covered with competing coaches during the team conference call prior to the state event.
Schools are permitted one school media pass, which is reserved for a full-time staff member or a student. To request a school media pass, fill out the form at the following link: http://khsaa.org/school-media-request-form/
Admission gates will open at 8:00 a.m. on December 21, with tickets available for $10. Children 10-and-under are admitted free. Finally, please make sure parents and spectators are aware that pets are not permitted.
