2024 Teams Withdrawing from Football Playoffs

Updated as Received. This form is required if a school withdraws from playoff competition.

If such withdrawal is prior to the final breaking of all ties:

• There is no penalty
• If applicable (a 1-4 seed withdrawing and more than four teams in a district), then the brackets may be edited to allow a replacement team.

If such withdrawal is after the breaking of all ties:

• The member school shall be assessed a by-class fine schedule for withdrawal from postseason.
• In addition to the cost of trophies, the fine is $1200 for Class 1A and 2A, $1500 for Class 3A, $2000 for Class 4A and 5A, and $2500 for Class 6A.
• All except $400 per fine will be sent to the opponent whose game is canceled.
• The fine may only be removed or reduced due to natural disaster, the results of documented and declared pandemic situations or other seemingly catastrophic occurrence.
• Teams withdrawing after this point will be considered to have forfeited the contest.
