The KHSAA wanted to update member schools about the details available for the postseason in the sport of Swimming & Diving.

REGION SWIM & DIVE

  • All information pertaining to the regional events, including regional instructions for participating teams, can be found here:

    SWIMMING MANAGERS
  • Regional diving will all take place at the University of Louisville:
    • Regions 2, 4, 5, 7 will dive on January 21 (Boys Warm-up 8:30 AM, Dive 9:30 -12. Girls Warm-up 4:30, Dive 5:30 – 9)
    • Regions 1, 3, 6, 8, 9 will dive on January 22 (Boys Warm-up 8 AM, Dive 9 -12. Girls Warm-up 4:30, Dive 5:30 – 9)

DIVING ENTRIES FOR REGION

To be eligible to participate in the KHSAA Regional and State Diving meets, a contestant must have successfully completed all optional dives on the entry form prior to attempting those dives in a postseason championship meet (verified by the coach in practice or a meet).

  • POSTSEASON DIVING ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
    • By entering into the member school’s Regional Championship, the coach and athletic director of the member school certify that all divers and diving alternates have each successfully completed all optional dives on the entry form prior to attempting those dives in a postseason championship meet (practice or meet).
  • Coaches must enter divers through Hytek.
  • In addition, if you are a diver, coach or judge and you have not registered with DiveMeets.com, please register now
  • NFHS Dive sheets are no longer required. Divemeets.com will be utilized for both regional and state events.
  • If you are a diver, coach, or judge and you have not registered please, register now.
  • You cannot participate in a KHSAA postseason meet as a diver, coach, or judge or enter a meet online until you open a DiveMeets account.
  • This registration must be completed by 5 p.m., four (4) days prior to your regional diving competition. (Deadline is 5:00 PM on January 17th for Regions 2, 4, 5, 7, and 5:00 PM on January 18th for Regions 1, 3, 6, 8, 9). 

SWIMMING ENTRIES FOR REGION

  • Each school entering individuals and relays into their Regional must enter using Hytek Meet Manager, HyTek Team Manager HyTek Team Manager Lite, by emailing an entry file to the Regional Administrative Official or their designee on or before 5 p.m. ET, Sunday, Jan. 19.
  • Except for any clerical errors, region entries may not be changed following 5 p.m., Sunday deadline.
  • No other means of entry will be accepted.
  • Be sure the entry file lists each swimmer’s and relay’s best time for seeding purposes.
  • No time entries (NT) will not be accepted for any entry.
  • The deadline for seed times is also 5 pm, Sunday, Jan. 19 and cannot be adjusted after the deadline for entry. 
  • Any changes after the deadline must be submitted to KHSAA Assistant Commissioner Bridenbaugh for approval. 

RELAY CARDS FOR 2025

  • Being listed on the card does not count as an event unless the competitor actually competes in the event.
  • In each relay event, eight (8) individuals may be designated, and it shall not count as an entry unless the competitor actually competes in the event. 
  • Any of these eight (8) individuals may swim in the prelims and/or finals (of regionals, state first round, or state finals) provided he/she does not exceed the permitted entries for the meet.
  • Once the eight (8) names are submitted for regional, those eight names are the same through the state first round and championship state final meet held at the University of Kentucky.

STATE SWIMMING FIRST ROUNDS

  • For 2025, the State First Round sites were selected and approved. They are as follows:
    • Site #1 – Regions 1-3 qualifiers: Bowling Green High School (*Central Time)
    • Site #2 – Regions 4-6 qualifiers: University of Louisville
    • Site #3 – Regions 7-9 qualifiers: Scott High School
    • *Each of these events would be contested as two-heat, timed finals (based on regional qualification) in all swimming events at all State First Round sites on February 8th.

STATE FINALS SWIM & DIVE

  • For Swimming:
    • From State First-Round Site #1 (Regions 1-3), the top 3 competitors per event automatically qualify.
    • From State First-Round Site #2 (Regions 4-6), the top 3 competitors per event automatically qualify.
    • From State First-Round Site #3 (Regions 7-9), the top 3 competitors per event automatically qualify.
    • After the 9 automatic qualifiers from each first round, the next best 15 times statewide per event will be at-large qualifiers.
  • For Diving:
    • The top two (2) divers in each event from each Region Meet and then the next highest 22 scores achieved throughout the state in all finals at Regional Meets, will qualify for the KHSAA State Diving Meet.
  • The KHSAA State Swimming & Diving Finals presented by UK HealthCare will take place on February 20-22 at the University of Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center.
  • State Diving will take place on February 20 (girls first) and points accumulated in the Diving Meets will accrue and carry forward to the swimming state meet team totals.
  • State Swimming will take place on February 21-22, with the girls’ prelims/finals on Friday and the boys’ prelims/finals on Saturday.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth.
