At its most recent meeting, the Board of Control adjusted the requirements for athletes surrounding the events of Pole Vault (Track & Field) and Diving (Swimming).

For member schools and coaches, the requirement for coaches to complete the additional NFHSLearn course remains in both events. Athletic Directors can use Arbiter to monitor compliance.

If a school plans to have pole vault or diving, coaches shall complete the following prior to the first practice:

A revision was made to the pole vault postseason requirements for athletes to eliminate the need for specific regular-season required participation (4-meet minimum).

A revision was also made to the diving postseason requirements for athletes to eliminate the need for specific regular-season required participation (4-meet minimum) but still maintains the requirement for each diver to have successfully completed all optional dives on the entry form prior to attempting those dives in a postseason championship meet.

Please contact Assistant Commissioner Sarah Bridenbaugh (sbridenbaugh@khsaa.org) should you have any questions pertaining to Pole Vault or Diving.
