The calculations for the three-way tie-breaker in football have been posted online at  http://www.khsaa.org/football/2015/threewaytiebreakertodate.pdf.

Playoff pairings as well as the instructions and details about the games are available at http://www.khsaa.org/football and the final district standings are posted at http://khsaa.org/2015-football-district-standings/

There were five out of state records that factored into the tiebreakers

  • Portland, TN – 4
  • Ironton, OH – 6
  • Thomas Walker, VA – 3
  • Rye Cove, VA – 0
  • Cumberland Gap, TN – 0

There were five specific ties this season with the final calculations at http://www.khsaa.org/football/2015/threewaytiebreakertodate.pdf:

  • Class 1A, District 7- tie for 1st broken based on points through top four defeated opponents
  • Class 3A, District 3- tie for 2nd broken based on points through top four defeated opponents
  • Class 3A, District 5- tie for 1st broken based on points through top four defeated opponents and additional opponents until tie was broken.
  • Class 3A, District 7- tie for 4th broken based on points through top four defeated opponents, remaining tie with no wins left broken by head to head contest 
  • Class 4A, District 2- tie for 2nd broken based on points through top four defeated opponents

About the Kentucky High School Athletic Association
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth.
