For the past 5 years, KHSAA has been partnering with PlayVS to bring your students the top games and the best competitive experience. Getting started is EASY and participation is FREE, with Spring ‘25 enrollment OPEN NOW!

As a reminder, High School Spring Enrollment closes on 2/21/2025

Enrollment will once again determine which titles are added to (or remain in) our state league – and, therefore, our in-person championships in April).

Filling out the survey helps us send you more info and connect you with a dedicated contact to help your school get ready to participate in esports. Even if you’re unsure about whether your school will compete, we encourage you to complete this survey and we can help answer any questions you may have.

For the last two seasons, our State League titles have been:

• League of Legends (PC)
• Rocket League (PC)
• Madden NFL (PS5/Xbox Series S/X)*
• NBA 2K (PS5/Xbox Series S/X)*
• Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo Switch)
• Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo Switch), and
• Splatoon 3 (Nintendo Switch)

*as a reminder, especially for those who did not participate in the Fall – both Madden and NBA2K are current generation versions now – PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X.  Crossplay is supported (and in fact, we had two players at our in-person championship last December who brought their Xbox Systems, and it worked very well).  Crossplay could help you increase participation for those who have Microsoft consoles.

Chess has been gaining ground, with several Chess Clubs/Teams participating across the state.  We had several in-person exhibition matches between Boyle and Wolfe Counties at our December 18 State Championship at the University of Kentucky.  Refer to this article on the match format of Chess in PlayVS’ leagues.
