05/23/26 – KHSAA State Softball Workers
PrintThank you for agreeing to work the final weekend of the 2026 KHSAA Softball State Tournament presented by UK HealthCare. Below is the list of your duties and explanations of reporting times (all times Eastern Time zone).
EVENT DETAILS
- Date: June 4-6, 12-13
- University of Kentucky’s John Cropp Stadium

PARKING
- Parking passes are being mailed next week (or use your 25-26 permanent pass (gray) if you have it). Please be sure to display it in your vehicle’s window.
- A parking map is available here, but there is reserved parking for workers down near the front entrance of the stadium: PARKING MAP
MEALS
- Comp Tickets for the concession stand or any on-site vendors will be available to workers.
- There is also a refrigerator in the press box where workers can store items.
WORKERS ASSIGNMENTS
- Team Attendents: Heather Cavitt, Diane Griffitt
- Arrival time: June 4-6, 7:15 AM. June 12-13, 1:00 PM
- Greet team at the front gate, escort them to the warm-up area, collect line-up cards from coaches, and coordinate their warm-up times/areas.
- Assist with getting teams to the proper dugout (the top team in the bracket is home and uses the 3B Dugout).
- Review timeline with coaches (infield, anthem protocols per grid)
- Assist with securing postgame recognitions (All-tourney, MVP, etc.)
- On the first weekend, only on Saturday, the losing team will receive 1 all-tournament team member, and we will present quarterfinal plaques.
- On the second weekend, each Friday game, the losing team will receive 2 all-tournament team members and a Semifinalist trophy.
- Saturday, each team gets 3 all-tournament team members (the winning team is 2 plus the MVP).
- Monitoring of the dugout. Only 30 total in the dugout. Only 21 can be in uniform and participate in on-field warm-ups, etc.
- Monitoring of media in camera wells (not in the dugout)
- Monitor the dugout for any damage
- The attendant at the first base dugout should be advised that we will bring officials through the side gate, not the dugout.
- Ticket Gate: James Webb, Rick Bridges, Kaytlyn Spickard, Kenny Gay* (*Only June 12-13)
- Arrival time: June 4-6, 8:00 AM. June 12-13, 1:45 PM
- Assist with redeeming tickets and wristbanding of fans.
- The UK will provide 2 workers to enforce stadium policies (clear bag, etc.).
- Kara Howard will be there to assist with troubleshooting.
- Shuttle/Ticket Gate Assist: Bobby Day
- Arrival time: June 4-6, 7:30 AM. June 12-13, 1:00 PM
- Shuttle Bus Drivers (if needed)
- Assist ticket gate
- Team/Media/Worker/Umpires Check-in: Marsha Day
- Arrival time: June 4-6, 7:30 AM. June 12-13, 1:00 PM
- Team check-in (radio Heather & Diane), Media check-in questions (radio Jenny), umpires (radio JT Taylor).
- Press Box: Tracy Spickard (Press Box Coordinator of Events), Danny Perkins (PA), John Campbell (Media Wifi accounts/Press Box Attendant)
- Arrival time: June 4-6, 8:15 AM. June 12-13, 1:45 PM
- Danny will handle all announcements according to the promotions schedule and the coordinator (Tracy’s) cues.
- John will handle any copies needed and supply lineups.
- Umpires’ Liaison: JT Taylor
- Please arrive by 9:30 AM Friday, 1:30 PM Saturday.
- Escort officials to the locker room from front gate
- Escort officials on & off field
