05/10/18- Football Contract Moratorium, Final Alignment for 2019 to 2022, Scheduling Grid, Cross-Bracketing
PrintAt its regular meeting on May 9, 2018, the Board of Control finalized the alignment of teams for the 2019 through 2022 playing seasons. The Board of Control meticulously considered every suggested change and feedback from its February draft during its May 8 work session, and May 9 meeting. The final document reflects any approved change from the original document and it listed at https://khsaa.org/final-approved-alignment-football-2019-through-2022-playing-seasons/
The mandatory scheduling grid for 2019 to 2022 seasons was also adopted. The final week of the season (now numbered week 11) remains a mandatory non-district week. Please be mindful of the scheduling restrictions contained in the grid, particularly when there are issues surrounding fall breaks. The final adopted grid is located at https://khsaa.org/football/schedulinggridfor2019through2022.pdf
Based on the adopted alignment, schools may consider the moratorium on contract signing for 2019 and beyond to be lifted at this time with the reminder that contracts are only valid if signed by the Principal or the listed Designated Representative of the school per KHSAA Bylaw 1. A copy of the game contract can be found at https://khsaa.org/forms/ge14.pdf or https://khsaa.org/forms/ge14.docx
The postseason cross bracketing for classes 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A were also adopted and are published on the KHSAA website at https://khsaa.org/football/regionrotationandcrossbracketpairingsfinalthrough2022.pdf
A summary of all of the items covered at the full Board of Control meeting is listed at https://khsaa.org/050918-board-of-control-addresses-football-alignment-scheduling-grid-cross-bracketing/
On behalf of the staff and Board of Control, thank you for your cooperation during this project.
