The year by year record of coach Billy Hicks has been reviewed on multiple occasions and been subject to scrutiny from various sources.

The following represents the updated records of the KHSAA with the following provisions:

1. The records from 1997-98 to the present are authenticated by the KHSAA / Riherds Scoreboard and no prior year of that scoreboard will be altered.
2. The records of 1981-1982 through 1996-97 are authenticated by the diligent and comprehensive research of Jeff Bridgeman, in his work, Kentucky High School Basketball Encyclopedia, 100th Anniversary Edition.
3. The record of 1978-79 was originally 0-26, following the forfeiture of 10 contests by the Evarts High School Principal and through the Harlan County Board of Education following an internal investigation into violations of KHSAA rules.
