The KHSAA Boys’ Sweet Sixteen® and event participants around the Commonwealth received a boost this week as UK HealthCare Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine reached an agreement to become the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. One of the Association’s two Platinum Level corporate partners, along with Spalding, UK HealthCare Orthopaedics became the title sponsor of the state football finals in 2019 – the first of a four-year deal.

“UK HealthCare Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine is proud to sponsor the KHSAA Boys’ Sweet Sixteen Basketball tournament,” said Cynde Estep, UK HealthCare Senior Market Development Manager. “We have a long history of expert care of high school and collegiate athletes, and with the largest and most experienced sports medicine group in the area, we look forward to caring for all of the athletes of the KHSAA to keep them in the game.”

UK HealthCare Orthopaedics, which has been a long-time partner of the Association, provides top-of-the-line sports medicine and athletic training services at all KHSAA Championship events in the Lexington area.

“Corporate partners are vital to the livelihood of the Association, especially in these times, and we are thrilled to see UK HealthCare Orthopaedics continue to expand its support of our mission,” said KHSAA Commissioner Julian Tackett. “In addition to its corporate support of our events, UKHC has proven to be an invaluable asset for our member schools and student-athletes through the dedicated work of its athletic trainers and sports medicine professionals.”

Through its corporate partnership, UKHC will honor one “Male Overcomer Award” recipient at the Boys’ Sweet 16® and one “Female Overcomer Award” recipient at the Mingua Beef Jerky Girls’ Sweet Sixteen® as part of its Comeback Awards program.

The 2021 KHSAA Boys’ Sweet 16® presented by UK HealthCare Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine will be held March 31-April 3, followed by the Mingua Beef Jerky Girls’ Sweet Sixteen® the following week (April 7-10).
