05/23/25 – Class 1A “Possible Qualifiers” List Released, 6 of 7 Regions
PrintDue to the necessity of re-running the Class 1A, Region 1 running events, a complete list of 1A qualifiers is not final. However, to assist Class 1A member schools from Regions 2 to 7 in beginning preparations for the State Track & Field meet, the KHSAA has compiled a “possible qualifiers” list through the completion of those six regions. The list includes the top 22 times/performances in each running event. This is in addition to the field event results.
**BE ADVISED: This list is NOT finalized and reviewed to ensure the inclusion of all 12 automatic qualifiers (two from each of the other 6 completed regions) who are in the state meet based on place of finish in their respective region (1st or 2nd). It is possible that an automatic qualifier in one or more races is not included in the top 22 times listed but will still qualify when the final list is compiled after Region 1 is complete, and therefore displace one of the listed competitors.
This list was solely developed so that coaches are aware of which athletes are still vying for a potential at-large spot in the 2025 State Meet in case of the need to work on travel logistics, etc. The top 2 finishers in each event of Region 1 will earn the automatic bid, and then the at-large qualifiers will be determined statewide. Several changes can and will occur after the results are received from Region 1, once their automatic qualifiers are included and any other at-large times worked into the rankings.
The initial performance list for the unified, adapted, and field events for Class 1A is also available for review at the links below. Both of these lists will be removed from publication once the Region 1 results are available and posted.
- POSSIBLE CLASS 1A QUALIFIERS (RUNNING EVENTS) THROUGH SIX REGIONS
- UNIFIED/ADAPTED/FIELD EVENTS PERFORMANCE LIST
Coaches should use this time to review results, review their student-athletes, and let us know immediately of any necessary changes (i.e. misspelling of names, incorrect grade, etc.) by emailing us at trresults@khsaa.org. It is important that you send corrections to this email address to ensure all parties are aware of the changes.
Tentative plans are to release the full performance lists on Saturday evening, May 24th, after the conclusion of the 1A Region 1 running results are received. Coaches should plan to attend the virtual conference call on Tuesday, May 27th, at 9:00 AM ET if they have any athletes who qualify.
