11/04/26 – Competitive Cheer & Dance Regions: Final Information

November 4, 2026 Athletic Department Blog Updates

Best of luck to all competing teams at the regional events scheduled for November 7th and 14th. A final few reminders to those competing…

ROSTERS: ARBITER360

  • Athletic Directors are reminded that both competitive cheer (not sideline) and dance rosters must be listed as a COED squad in Arbiter360, regardless of what division you entered for the postseason.
  • Student-Athletes on the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity teams are, by default, automatically included on the postseason roster; therefore, if a school wishes to have all athletes on the postseason roster, you do not need to do anything (provided rosters are current and accurate).
  • The number of athletes you can place on the postseason roster is currently unlimited; coaches will choose on the day of the event (both region and state) which athletes from that roster compete, as long as the division limits are met.
  • Any athlete who competes in a division at regionals is locked to that division should the school advance to state with more than one squad.
  • A coach can have different athletes on the floor at state than at region, as long as all athletes are on the Arbiter360 postseason roster prior to the regional.

REQUIRED PAPERWORK

  • KHSAA schools are reminded to adhere to all music copyright laws.
  • Coaches will not be required to submit any music copyright verification, but schools should have a copy handy in case the KHSAA requests it after the event.
  • For KHSAA competitive cheer and dance regionals, coaches do not need to bring any other paperwork.

COACHES BOX

  • Each regional site will have a “coaching box” of a maximum of 6 seats.
  • Each participating school can decide who will occupy these seats during the school’s performance, as long as it doesn’t exceed six (6) total (i.e. 2 alternates, 4 coaches or 3 alternates, 3 coaches, etc.).
  • As a reminder, in accordance with UCA and UDA Championship Rules, it is required that each team have a responsible adult at the music station who knows the routine and music (no alternates or team members allowed) and not in the coaching box.
  • This representative is responsible for pressing “play” and should not be 1 of the 6 individuals occupying the coaching box.
  • No other participants from other squads or individuals will be permitted on the floor.
