05/22/25 – Class 1A Region 1 Running Events to be Rerun
PrintDue to a variety of meet, administrative and technical errors with the timing and results process, all Class 1A Region 1 running events must be rerun.
The KHSAA office and state meet officials, including the software company, have conducted a lengthy review to try and solve the issues and find an alternative solution. Unfortunately, none of the running events were timed in the correct format. Accurate performance records are not available or able to be reconstructed, dramatically reducing alternative options. We have also consulted with the NFHS to be certain that the final determination is compliant with Federation rules. With at-large state qualifiers at stake, it is also vital to ensure fairness and transparency for the other six regions in Class 1A.
After an emergency Zoom meeting with the member schools in the region, it has been determined that the best path forward is for the meet to be rescheduled for Saturday, May 24th at 1:00 PM CT. The site has also been moved to Caldwell County High School. We are thankful for both the great participation and understanding of the region teams throughout the rescheduling discussion.
Only the running events will need to be conducted again, as the field events were not impacted. The unified and adapted events will not need to be repeated. Due to the rerun and according to NFHS Rules, all performances from running events of the first meet will be voided, including place (qualifying), time, and record, as well as the team results and scoring. State qualifiers will only be considered from the performances of the running events in Class 1A Region 1 on Saturday, May 24th.
The original entries submitted by the schools will remain as the entries for the rescheduled meet. Because this is a reset from the beginning, coaches may make new relay declarations when reporting to the clerk.
Please direct any meet-specific venue logistics questions related to the time schedule or other details to Head Coach Steve Shaw (steve.shaw@caldwell.kyschools.us). Contact our office if you have specific track rules questions or need clarification via sbridenbaugh@khsaa.org.
