FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 10, 2025


The opening round of the Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac boys’ golf state tournament presented by UK HealthCare is complete with Landon Hunt (McCracken Co.) atop the leaderboard. The senior carded a 68 (-4) on Friday afternoon at the Bowling Green Country Club.

Colton Woosley of South Oldham is one shot back after shooting a 71 (-3). 

We have a 3-way tie for third place with Will Judd (Christian Academy, Louisville), Luc Kelty (St. X), and Carson Nicholas (Henry Clay) each securing a 70 (-2).

Eli Wade (Greenwood) and Will Stuart (St. X) are in the hunt, just three shots back of the leader.

As for the team competition, the St. X Tigers look to secure their first golf state crown since 2016 with a solid opening round. The 21-time Kentucky state champion leads defending titlist Madison Central by two shots.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth.
