Thank you for agreeing to work at the rescheduled 2025-26 State Competitive Cheer & Dance Championships. These instructions outline your duties and report times for the event. Please feel free to send any questions you may have. Sarah’s cell number is 740-607-7217 should you need anything.

CHECK-IN/PARKING/MEALS

• Worker check-in is at the front entrance of the school.
• Parking – No parking pass is needed; please look for the KHSAA signs for worker parking.
• A boxed lunch will be provided on Friday night (after), once on Saturday (lunch), and once on Sunday.  

WORKERS ASSIGNMENTS

• MEDIA/WORKER/TEAM CHECK-IN: Marsha Day (All 3 Days)
  • Marsha/Brittany will be checking in media/workers/pass gate and will assist Jeanie Molloy & Sara McClain (KHSAA) with team check-in and counting squads.
    • Arrival time, Friday – 3:15 PM
    • Arrival time, Saturday – 7:00 AM
    • Arrival time, Sunday – 11:15 AM
• TICKETS/DOORS: Colleen Robertson (All 3), Rick Bridges (All 3), Casey Fisk (All 3), Trey Smallwood (All 3).
  • Friday we will open gates at 4:30 PM. Saturday we will open gates at 8:00 AM. Sunday gates open at 12:00 PM. 
  • Your job is to assist the fans in redeeming/purchasing tickets.
  • Casey will handle the Box Office sales (with Kara/Abby) and will have access to iPads and HQ through GoFan if needed.
  • The rest of you will assist fans in redeeming/wristbanding. It is re-entry per session this year (and an all-session on Saturday cheer and Sunday dance).

    • Arrival time, Sunday – 11:15 AM
• WARM-UP ROOM: John Campbell, Donna Bumps, Cassidy Moore (All working all 3 days) 
  • You will be in the warm-up room with Butch Cope (KHSAA).  Both Cheer & Dance will utilize the “Mat A” and “Mat B” in the warm-up room.
  • John will be Mat A, Donna will handle Mat B. 
  • Cassidy will be escorting the teams from the cafeteria area to the warm-up gym. 
  • Everyone’s job is to ensure the right team gets on and off the mat at the correct time. Each team will have 8 full minutes on the mats. Butch will ensure they exit on time. Detailed time schedules will be given to you upon arrival.

• SECURING AREAS: Brittany Brown (All 3), Ralph & Janet Compton (All 3)  
  
  • Brittany will be at the door in the school (near the warm-up room) blocking anyone from entering the school. 
  • Ralph will be at the back door of the competition floor (lower back corner), which will be closed, preventing any entrance into the facility.
  • Janet will be at the top of the stairs directing teams back to the warm-up room.

    • Arrival time, Sunday – 11:15 AM
• TEAM MARSHALS: Frank McGowan (All 3), Bobby Day (All 3), Gayle Mills (All 3), Carole Mullins (All 3),
  • Frank will be at the top of the stairs in front of the doors. He will be sure no public fans or extra bodies get down the stairs with each team (including any children, strollers, etc).
  • Bobby will be sure they make it down the stairs (holding area) and at the correct time, send them down the hallway to Carole. Carole will meet them at the end of the hallway and prepare them for competition (music station, etc).
  • Ensure that teams enter and exit the competition floor at the designated times, but do not let them be seen until their school’s name is announced.
  • Gayle will be sure the teams exit the performance floor (opposite corner from entrance) to the stairwell that leads them back to the warm-up room.

At 3:45 PM on Friday, all team marshals/warm-up room workers will meet to review duties, transitions, and other details.

• RUNNER/SCORING/SCANNING: Maurie Bedwell (All 3), Gwen Saylor (All 3), Donna Tackett (All 3), Taelor Brown (FRI/SAT), Kathy Johnston (SUN)
  • Maurie/Donna will handle the final tallying of scores in Google Sheets
  • Gwen will be scanning & saving score sheets 
  • Taelor will run the score sheets from the judges’ table to Maurie/Donna.  
    • Arrival time, Friday – 4:30 PM
    • Arrival time, Saturday – 8:30 AM
    • Arrival time, Sunday – 12:30 PM
