10/05/26 – Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Championship Begins in Bowling Green

The fall championship season gets underway this week when the Bowling Green Country Club hosts the 2026 Leachman Buick•GMC•Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Championships (Oct. 6-10). The boys’ tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6 with the opening round, followed by the second 18 holes on Wednesday, October 7. The girls’ championship opens with first round action on Friday, October 9, and the final 18 holes slated for Saturday, October 10.

Madison Central will look to repeat as girls’ team champion after claiming the 2025 state title with a record 604 (300-304). Sacred Heart’s Keira Yun won last year’s individual championship with a 6-under 138 and returns looking for a repeat performance. On the boys’ side, St. Xavier returned to the top in 2025 with a 7-shot victory over 2024 champion Madison Central.  Individually, the Tigers finished 2-3-4 led by Luc Kelty, who finished three shots off the lead, and Brody Alexander, who had a 1-under 143 and finished fourth a year ago.

    About the Kentucky High School Athletic Association

    The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth.
