The final round of the 2026 Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac boys’ golf state tournament finished on Wednesday as Anderson Lang of Frederick Douglass outlasted Luc Kelty of St. Xavier on the third playoff hole to win the state crown. Lang shot an even par 72 on Tuesday and a 4-under 68 (140) on Wednesday becoming the first Douglass golfer to win a golf title. Kelty, the 2025 runner-up, caught fire down the stretch with four birdies on the back-nine to force the playoff. Luke Ebel (Lexington Christian) and Greyson Cloern (St. Xavier) were tied for third with a 3-under 141 over the two days.

St. Xavier captured their 23rd state team title, and second in a row, with a two-day total of 568 led by Kelty, Cloern, along with Brooks Cole and Finn Johnson who finished at +1 (145).

The girls’ two-day state championship begins on Friday at BGCC.

Tickets to the events are available for purchase online (https://gofan.co/app/school/KHSAA), with a discounted $13 advance ticket (including fees) available prior to the day of each round. For those who wait to purchase on the day of the competition, only the $15 Game Day ticket will be available. Tickets to the event are only available online. There will be no cash sales at Bowling Green Country Club.
