Thank you for agreeing to work at the 2025-26 State Competitive Cheer & Dance Championships. These instructions outline your duties and report times for the event. Please feel free to send any questions you may have. Sarah’s cell number is 740-607-7217 should you need anything.

EVENT DETAILS

• December 12-13-14
• George Rogers Clark High School
• 2745 Boonesboro Rd, Winchester

CHECK-IN/PARKING/MEALS

• Worker check-in is at the front entrance of the school.
• Parking – No parking pass is needed; please look for the KHSAA signs for worker parking.
• A boxed lunch will be provided on Friday night (after), once on Saturday (lunch), and once on Sunday.  

WORKERS ASSIGNMENTS

• MEDIA/WORKER/TEAM CHECK-IN: Marsha Day (FRI/SAT), Brittany Brown (SUN)
  • Marsha/Brittany will be checking in media/workers/pass gate and will assist Jeanie Molloy & Sara McClain(KHSAA) with team check-in and counting squads.
    • Arrival time, Friday – 3:15 PM
    • Arrival time, Saturday – 7:00 AM
    • Arrival time, Sunday – 11:15 AM
• TICKETS/DOORS: Colleen Robertson (FRI/SUN), Trey Smallwood (All 3), Rachel Angolia (FRI/SAT), Sadie Wurth (SAT/SUN), Casey Fisk (All 3)
  • Friday we will open gates at 4:30 PM. Saturday we will open gates at 8:00 AM. Sunday gates open at 12:00 PM. 
  • Your job is to assist the fans in redeeming/purchasing tickets.
  • Rachel/Sadie will handle the Box Office sales (with Kara) and will have access to iPads and HQ through GoFan if needed.
  • The rest of you will assist fans in redeeming/wristbanding. It is re-entry per session this year (and an all-session on Saturday cheer and Sunday dance).

    • Arrival time, Sunday – 11:15 AM
• WARM-UP ROOM: John Campbell, Donna Bumps, Cassidy Moore (All working all 3 days) 
  • You will be in the warm-up room with Butch Cope (KHSAA).  Both Cheer & Dance will utilize the “Mat A” and “Mat B” in the warm-up room.
  • John will be Mat A, Donna will handle Mat B. 
  • Cassidy will be escorting the teams from the cafeteria area to the warm-up gym. 
  • Everyone’s job is to ensure the right team gets on and off the mat at the correct time. Each team will have 8 full minutes on the mats. Butch will ensure they exit on time. Detailed time schedules will be given to you upon arrival.

• SECURING AREAS: Glenn Spalding, James Webb (All working all 3 days) 
  
  • Glenn will be at the door between the warm-up room and the performance arena, blocking anyone from entering the school. 
  • James will be at the back door on the competition floor (back corner) and will assist if we have any mat issues.

    • Arrival time, Sunday – 11:15 AM
• TEAM MARSHALS: Frank McGowan (All 3), Bobby Day (FRI/SAT), Ben Zimmerman (SUN), Gayle Mills (All 3), Carole Mullins (All 3), Kathy Johnston (All 3), Brittany Brown (All 3).
  • Frank will be at the top of the stairs in front of the doors. He will be sure no public fans or extra bodies get down the stairs with each team (including any children, strollers, etc). Bobby/Ben will be sure they make it down the stairs (holding area) and at the correct time, send them down the hallway to Carole. Carole will meet them at the end of the hallway and prepare them for competition (music station, etc).
  • Be sure that teams get on and off the competition floor at the appropriate times, but do not let them leak out to be seen until their school’s name is announced.
  • Gayle will be sure the teams exit the performance floor and head back down the back hallway to the stairwell that leads them back to the warm-up room.
  • Brittany (on FRI/SAT) will be at the top of the stairs to help teams back to the warmup room. 
  • Kathy will be a flex worker, we may need you in different spots throughout the weekend.

At 3:45 PM on Friday, all team marshals/warm-up room workers will meet to review duties, transitions, and other details.

• RUNNER/SCORING/SCANNING: Maurie Bedwell, Gwen Saylor, Donna Tackett, Taelor Brown (All working all 3 days)
  • Maurie/Donna will handle the final tallying of scores in Google Sheets
  • Gwen will be scanning & saving score sheets 
  • Taelor will run the score sheets from the judges’ table to Maurie/Donna.

    • Arrival time, Sunday – 12:30 PM
