The 2025 UK HealthCare Boys’ Basketball Sweet 16® will tip off its 107th installment this week inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center in Lexington, beginning with the first of back-to-back days of first-round matchups on Wednesday.

Wednesday will start with Region 4 champion Bowling Green (28-6) vs. Region 5 champion Adair County (30-5) at 11 a.m. ET, followed by Region 6 champion Jeffersontown (26-6) vs. Region 7 champion St. Xavier (31-2) at 1:30 p.m. in the Tigers’ first Sweet 16® appearance since 1995.

Region 8 champion South Oldham (29-5) vs. Region 12 champion and first-time Sweet 16® participant Danville Christian (29-3) will begin Wednesday’s evening session at 6 p.m. Region 16 champion Ashland Blazer (23-7), which tied an 82-year old state record with a seventh straight Sweet 16® berth, will close the opening night vs. Region 1 champion Calloway County (31-3) at 8:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Region 13 champion North Laurel (22-10) will face Region 14 champion Breathitt County (24-8) at 11 a.m., followed by Region 15 champion Lawrence County (23-10) vs. Region 10 champion Montgomery County (22-10) at 1:30 p.m. in the Bulldogs’ second and the Indians’ third all-time Sweet 16® appearances.

Region 3 champion Daviess County (25-6) vs. Region 11 champion Great Crossing (31-4) will resume Thursday’s action at 6 p.m. in the Warhawks’ second all-time Sweet 16® berth in as many seasons, while the first round will come to a close with Region 2 champion Henderson County (25-6) vs. Region 9 champion Cooper (23-5) at 8:30 p.m. in the Colonels’ first tournament appearance since 1999 and the Jaguars’ second in school history.

The quarterfinals will take place on Friday at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Sweet 16® will conclude Saturday, beginning with semifinal action at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and ending with the championship game at 7:30 p.m.

Among this year’s participants, Bowling Green, Jeffersontown, St. Xavier and Ashland Blazer have combined for 10 state championships since the tournament’s inception, including two titles since the turn of the century.
