2013 Leachman Buick•GMC•Cadillac/KHSA Golf State Championships This Week

The KHSAA will award its first state championship trophies of the 2013-14 season this week when the 2013 Leachman Buick•GMC•Cadillac/KHSAA Golf State Championships visit the Bowling Green Country Club. The boys’ championship (Oct. 7-9) will start off the week with a practice round on Monday. First Round play will begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, with the final round beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Live scoring for both tournaments will be available through GolfStat.com, with the boys’ results available at:

The practice round for the girls’ championship (Oct. 10-12) will take place on Thursday, followed by first round play at 7 a.m. on Friday. Saturday’s championship round will begin at 8 a.m. Live scoring for the girls’ tournament can be found at:

Frankfort High To Hold 30-Year Soccer Celebration Saturday

Frankfort High School’s boys’ soccer program will hold a 30-year celebration at Sower Soccer Complex on Saturday, Oct. 12. Frankfort will host Henry Clay at 1 p.m., followed by the FHS junior varsity game against Lafayette at 3 p.m.

Former Frankfort High players will be honored at halftime and between the games. Former players are encouraged to contribute old pictures to the occasion, and old uniforms will be on sale during the celebration. Sign-in for the ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m.

About the Kentucky High School Athletic Association
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association was organized in 1917 and is the agency designated by the Kentucky Department of Education to manage high school athletics in the Commonwealth. The Association is a voluntary nonprofit 501(c)3 organization made up of 277 member schools both public and private. The KHSAA sanctions 40 state championships in 12 sports and 4 sport activities, licenses and trains over 4,000 officials, provides catastrophic insurance for its more than 70,000 member school student-athletes, as well as overseeing coaching education and sports safety programs.
