PANNELL SWIM SHOP/KHSAA SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEK IN LOUISVILLE

The 2013 Pannell Swim Shop/KHSAA Swimming and Diving State Championships will be held this week (Feb. 21-23) at the Ralph Wright Natatorium on the campus of the University of Louisville.

Tickets to the event are $10 per person for each session, with the exception of the opening session on Thursday night ($5 per person). Ralph Wright Natatorium has a seating capacity of 500 people for each session of the meet. Due to the limited seating capacity, fans are encouraged to arrive early to purchase tickets. Each customer will only be allowed to purchase a ticket for those persons in line, with kids 10-and-under admitted for free. At the conclusion of each session, spectators will be required to vacate the seating area.

Tickets will go sale Thursday, Feb. 21 at 4:30 p.m. for Session One (Girls’ Diving Preliminaries). Ticket sales for Session Two (Girls’ Swimming Preliminaries) will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, followed by ticket sales for Session Three (Boys’ Swimming Preliminaries) starting at 2 p.m. that afternoon. Ticket sales for Session Four (Girls’ Swimming and Diving Finals) will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, with sales for the final session (Boys’ Swimming and Diving Finals) beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Live video coverage from all three days of the Pannell Swim Shop/KHSAA Swimming and Diving State Championships will be provided by iHigh.com and available free of charge at www.khsaa.tv. Following the event, championship photos will be available for purchase at www.khsaaphotos.org.

 

INAUGURAL KHSAA COMPETITIVE CHEER CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS SATURDAY IN BOWLING GREEN

The inaugural KHSAA Competitive Cheer Championships will take place Saturday, Feb. 23 at E.A. Diddle Arena on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Divisions have been created for all-girls and coed competition, with the winning school in each division at the regional level advancing to the State competition.

Doors open to the fans at 7 a.m., with the competition beginning at 8 a.m. with the Class 1A Small/Class 2A Medium Divisions. The Class 2A Large/Class 2A Super-Large Divisions will compete at 11 a.m., followed by the Class 2A Small/Class 1A Medium Divisions at 2 p.m., the Class 1A Large/Class 2A Coed Divisions at 5 p.m., and the Class 1A Coed/Class 1A Super-Large Divisions at 7:30 p.m. An awards presentation will follow each competition block.

Tickets to the event are $10 per person, with kids 10 & under admitted free. A single ticket is valid for the entire day’s competition, with no re-entry. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
