We apologize for any duplicate notifications. However, during our ongoing transition and migration of our school data system, we are attempting to ensure that notices are sent through multiple channels.
The mandatory online KHSAA Rules Clinic for the sport of Basketball is available through your KHSAA360/ArbiterSports Eligibility Dashboard. Please excuse the production delay as there have been issues with planned elements and video review that have now resulted in those being removed and the clinic posted.
- The clinic is required of all coaches (varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen), regardless of whether or not the coach receives pay.

10/20/25- Required Rules Clinics Available for Licensed Officials in Basketball
The online KHSAA Rules Clinic for officials in the sport of basketball is available through Arbitersports at khsaaofficials.org. This clinic is part of the requirements for postseason eligibility in basketball for the 2026 season.
For full instructions on how to access your Eligibility options to complete the Online Rules Clinic, see the following:
- Go to khsaaofficials.org , which should take you directly to the main ArbiterSports site.
- If you have issues with that address, on your web browser, go to https://khsaa.arbitersports.com/front/104219/Site (which transfers you to the arbiter platform)
- Click Eligibility
- Select 2025-26 Post-Season Basketball
- Select Enroll (this is basically requesting to be considered eligible for postseason)
- You should then be able to take the clinic by clicking on “Take Online Clinics.“

2025 Submitted Exceptions for Football Playoff Dates and Sites
Updated as Received. This form is required if a school will not play on Friday night at 7 p.m., or if a school will be playing at a site not at the school.
2025 Teams Withdrawing from Football Playoffs
Updated as Received. This form is required if a school withdraws from playoff competition.
If such withdrawal is prior to the final breaking of all ties:
- There is no penalty
- If applicable (a 1-4 seed withdrawing and more than four teams in a district), then the brackets may be edited to allow a replacement team.
If such withdrawal is after the breaking of all ties:
- The member school shall be assessed a by-class fine schedule for withdrawal from postseason.
- In addition to the cost of trophies, the fine is $1200 for Class 1A and 2A, $1500 for Class 3A, $2000 for Class 4A and 5A, and $2500 for Class 6A.
- All except $400 per fine will be sent to the opponent whose game is canceled.
- The fine may only be removed or reduced due to natural disaster, the results of documented and declared pandemic situations or other seemingly catastrophic occurrence.

09/23/25- Nominations Sought For Midway Football Student Athlete-of-the-Year Awards
The KHSAA is excited to open the nomination process for the Midway University/KHSAA Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year among Football participants for 2025-2026.
This award is based on athletic and academic achievement as well as community service and leadership. The link to the application contains additional criteria and a form to nominate one participant from each 2025-2026 team. Nominations must come from a member school, but can be submitted by an administrator, guidance counselor, or coach. Nominations may only be submitted online at https://khsaa.org/ge35-midway-university-khsaa-student-athlete-of-the-year-nomination-form/
The winner will be announced early in the postseason, and current plans call for the winners to be recognized at an awards banquet at Midway University in early summer 2026. From the winners selected for each KHSAA championship, one student-athlete will be selected as the 2025-2026 Midway University/KHSAA Student-Athlete-of-the-Year and announced at the banquet. All winners will also receive their recognition at the planned banquet.

09/04/25 – Reminder about Shortened and Interrupted Football Games
After being blessed with fantastic weather for the first two playing weeks, the forecast for this weekend leads to again issuing this reminder around football contests. This is particularly important given the vast amount of turnover in athletic administrators and coaches; a reminder about the Competition Rules is in order for Football. Interrupted games are not new and have a defined procedure for football, which has not changed in several years.
Within the NFHS football playing rules, in an emergency (such as inclement weather where advisories are placed against travel or to seek shelter), teams can mutually agree to shorten any remaining period or terminate the game at any point after the game has begun. If such termination is mutually agreed to, the game shall be recorded as the current score, and the game cannot be replaced on the schedule.
