The Kentucky High School Athletic Association shall sponsor postseason competition in the team sport of boys/coed and girls basketball, provided that there is sufficient interest of the membership and such is approved by the Board of Control.
The Commissioner shall divide the state into geographic sections with the approval of the Board of Control. The alignment shall be reviewed for any possible changes based upon member school self-requests or initiative of the Board of Control in January to be effective with the following school year.
In the interim, newly added or deleted programs will be handled on a case by case basis by the Commissioner’s office.

As of January 1, 2025, the alignment is as follows (with manual notations to be made during the transition to the KHSAA360/ArbiterSports system):
